For Artists

Call to Artists – Showcase Your Work and Support Cooper-Young!

This annual event features works by local artists of all type – from abstract paintings and pottery to fiber arts and jewelry and everything in between. Proceeds from the event benefit the Cooper Young Community Association, a 501c3 organization. The Cooper-Young Community Association is responsible for many of the public art displays and amenities we have all come to enjoy, including the beautiful gingko bike racks, the Lamplighter newspaper, the Trestle Art above Cooper Street, and much more! Local supporting local is what creates a community to brag about!

Artist’s Benefits

You, the artist, make our annual Art for Art’s Sake Auction possible. We deeply appreciate the donation of your time, energy, and artwork! We simply couldn’t do it without you.

All donating artists will receive the following:

  • Two (2) tickets to the Art for Art’s Sake Auction, which includes bidding rights, food, and beverages.
  • Promotion on the Cooper-Young Art for Art’s Sake website and social media outlets.

In addition, artists donating art valued at over $200 and selected for live auction will receive:

  • NEW THIS YEAR: artists have the option of receiving 30% or 50% of the sale price of the auctioned piece!
  • Show and reception at Otherlands Coffee Bar. The Show will run from March 31st until April 12th, with a public reception to be held Sunday, April 6th, 4-6 pm.
  • A CYCA membership with benefits valued over $100 (think discounts at CY restaurants and more)
  • Opportunity to have a gallery show hosted by the Cooper-Young Community Association (solo or collaborative with artist of your choice)
  • An artist profile in the April issue of the LampLighter, which may include contact information if you choose. This information will also be on the Cooper-Young Art for Art’s Sake Auction’s website, as well as on social media.

To make all of this happen, we would appreciate your completed profile and art donation by March 25th. If you intend on donating, but will not have a completed piece ready by the 15th, please still commit and notify us so we can begin to plan space accordingly.

Contact Kristan Huntley at 901-272-2922, 901-517-3618, or and we will arrange to pick up your donation and completed profile.
